Once long ago, there was a brother and a sister. The boy’s name was Comon. The girl’s name, Jayda! Jayda and Comon had the gifts of insatiable curiosity and beauty! One especially hot summer day in May, Jayda and Comon wandered off into the jungle to find water!! But their little search for water became a huge departure off their land and into the cool, deep, dark jungle!!!
They had heard the story of Mowgli before, and they knew how to survive in the wild! When they saw that it was getting dark, Comon said, “I think we should stop here for the night.” Jayda said, “Sounds great to me.” I bet we should any way, I’m getting tired, she thought. They saw a coconut tree and ran toward it! “Pikit pikit” was the sound of their feet! They lay down, and fell asleep.
The next morning they ate a few coconuts and set off. Comon kept leading them in circles! So Jayda said, “Let me lead.”
Jayda brought them to a stream, Comon said, “Look, there are two monkeys! Let’s ask them if they know where Comonon is!”
Jayda thought for a second, “I’m not sure if we should.” Then she said, “All right, I’m trusting you on this!” They went over to them and asked, “Do you know were the village Comonon is?”
Surprisingly the monkeys said, “Yes, we do!”
So Comon and Jayda asked, “Can you take us there?”
They said, “Yes! But, you have to promise that you will never tell anyone about us being able to talk!”
Comon and Jayda said, “Ok!”
The monkeys, Comon, and Jayda all lived until they were nine thousand years old, because they kept their promise.
