Kansas
by Tony, 4th grade
On a Tuesday morning, my dad, my brother and I left for Kansas to take my brother, Jon, to college. I said to myself "This is going to be a long trip!
About three or four hours into the drive, I got bored. We had to keep driving. One hour later, we stopped for gas. It was a lot of money! When the gas tank was full, we got some snacks for after lunch.
Then, we went to lunch at Subway. I had a huge cookie and a couple bags of chips. I also had a Sprite to go with it.
A couple hours later, we got to my brother's apartment. His apartment was so cool! I wanted to live there too.
It finally got dark. It was about ten o'clock when I fell asleep. I was busy watching the Little League World Series.
The next day, we went on a hunt for Spanish books, English books, philosophy books and more. It took us all day to find the books he needed.
When we got back to his apartment I went straight to sleep. I didn't watch anything or do anything.
The next morning, we did lots of crying. We were very, very sad that we were going to leave him but we had to. It took us a very long time to get home, but we finally got there!
When we got home, I went straight to the telephone to call Jon. He was so happy that we got home safely and called him. I figured out that leaving him wasn't so hard.
