King Cobras

by Josh, 3rd grade JoshN:

A King Cobra can grow up to be 17 or 18 feet long. King cobras live in Asia. A king cobra's head is short with a snout. Its neck can look like a hood. Usually, king cobra babies have black and white or yellow crossbands. King cobra adults are brown or black and greenish yellowish.

King cobras are nocturnal, and can be found in water and trees. King cobras weigh 13-18 pounds. They can have babies when they are about four years old. The king cobra's usual diet is snakes, even poisonous ones. They will also eat small lizards or other reptiles when they can't find any snakes. The king cobra lays about 40 eggs at a time.
