Mr. Quills
by Steven H.
Today I was astonished to find a porcupine in my lunchbox. As soon as I saw him I tried to move him, but he wouldn’t budge. Next, I tried to make an explosion, but the fuse ran out. Then I took a cracker and held it above his head. He moved a half an inch. Soon after I took the lunchroom phone and called Africa. I got a porcupine on the other end. Suddenly the porcupine started making noises but the porcupine in my lunchbox didn’t move one inch.
I got a great idea to put him in the freezer. When I took him out he was only half an ice cube. So I put him in the freezer once again. Later, when I took him out he was a whole ice cube. This made it easier for me to pull him out of the lunchbox without getting poked. Finally, after removing the porcupine cube from my lunchbox, I set him on the heater. After a while he melted to defrost and scurried away.
