Christmas At My House

by Tate S.

Tate's Tree:

In December I often wake up at the soothing smell of the sizzling bacon and pancakes. My mom, Mark, and I live in the same house. I help my mom get the house ready for Christmas. I like to help my mom get the Christmas stuff out.

It's very cold outside, but the rich smell of my mom's pancakes and bacon warms me up. Don't forget the tasty white milk to wash it down. The frost on the window is as white as a polar bear in the soft snow.

As soon as I finish my great breakfast, I go call my relatives. After that, I go get my clothes on. It's about 10 o'clock and I am downstairs searching for the Christmas ornaments in the dark and dusty closet under the stairs.

When everybody is at our house we start to turn all the lights out and put candles around the house. Then we put the gifts Tate's presents: under the tree

and decorate it. Next we have lunch and open gifts.

After we all open gifts, we show what we got for Christmas to each other. We call it "show and tell" and each person holds up the gifts they received. They thank the person that gave it to them and every one cheers. Then we play with the toys we got.

We all are exhausted from the exciting day.
