Adding contributing editor's to your site

As a managing editor, your access to your website will be set up for you in advance. It will be up to you to add contributing editors that can help maintain certain areas of your site.

Suggestion: You can assign fellow teachers or parents to help with the updating or addition of information to your site.

To do this, start by adding your contributing editors as new members of your site, go to the editors only menu across the top of your site and click on Admin. Scroll down until you see Membership.

Fill in the dialog boxes under the membership area. Make sure you type the contributing editors email address correctly and give them a password that will be easily remembered.

Once you have entered the information, click the Add Member button.

Now you will need to go to the Prefs page located in the Editors Only Menu.

You need to go into the Editorial page to add your new member as a contributing editor.

On the Prefs page you will see a menu bar of choices to the left side, click on Editorial.

Now you will need to add your new member to the Contributing Editors box. Add each new members email address in this first box each separated by a comma. Once you have entered your new contributing editors,

scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Submit button.

You now have added your contributing editors to your site.

SPECIAL NOTE:Contributing editors may only edit pages and pictures that they create. So if you assign them to a section--make sure they create everything from beginning to end within their assigned section. As the managing editor you can edit anything created by your contributing editors.

Also remember, as the managing editor--YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CONTENT WITHIN YOUR SCHOOL'S WEBSITE !
